Safe Communities Humboldt & Area is a community driven, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to eliminating injuries while promoting a culture of safety through the promotion of injury prevention programs and education.

In December 2005 Humboldt & Area was designated a Safe Community by Safe Communities Canada – a national not-for-profit, charitable organization that believes all injuries are predictable and preventable.

The highlight for Safe Communities Humboldt & Area is receiving a perfect 20/20 score for three years in a row on the Safe Communities Canada Report Card! Our group earned the highest ranking possible for any safe community in Canada in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Five attributes are needed to receive a perfect score - leadership, priority setting, sustainability, and community engagement. In 2011, we received a score of 18.5/20.

In the past year Safe Communities Humboldt & Area focused on providing key safety programs including Pedestrian Safety, the PARTY Program, CN Rail Safety and the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day.

2012 will be an exciting year for us as we are engaging in a variety of existing and new initiatives including a focus on the PARTY program, rail and agriculture safety for children, pedestrian and car seat safety, bullying, falls prevention for seniors and positive ticketing.
